Turning National Delivery Into an Award-Winning Growth Story
Marketing & Communications leadership role, prior to founding K. Harbour & Co.
The situation
A national furnishing supplier to the UK's Build to Rent sector completed its largest project to date: furnishing 554 apartments across three new developments for a major UK BTR developer, spanning England, Wales and Scotland. Each site had its own layout, timeline and delivery challenges, including a storm that hit mid-installation at one location. The business needed this complex, multi-site delivery turned into a credible growth story — not just a completed job.
What I did
Directed the marketing team's development of a full case study covering the project end-to-end, aligned messaging across digital and sales channels, and worked closely with the operations and sales teams to make sure the story reflected what had actually happened on the ground — including the real operational challenges, not just the highlights.
The result
554 apartments furnished across three UK nations within a year; the resulting case study and positioning contributed to the business winning a national industry award for interior design, with a shortlist repeat the following year. The work also led to an invitation to contribute a bylined article exploring the planning, project management and customer experience behind large-scale Build to Rent delivery.
"The key to successfully navigating the market is proper planning and tight project management."
