Helping businesses improve before they invest

Every business has bottlenecks. The important part is finding the right ones before deciding how to fix them.

Kenny, Founder of K. Harbour & Co.

Why this firm exists

K. Harbour & Co. exists because I kept seeing the same pattern.

Businesses were being encouraged to buy new technology before anyone had properly understood what was actually slowing them down. New software became the answer to almost every question, even when the real issue was somewhere else entirely. Sometimes it was reporting. Sometimes it was process. Sometimes it was simply that different teams were working towards different goals.

After working across organisations of very different sizes, I came to the same conclusion repeatedly: technology works best when it supports a well-understood business, not when it’s expected to fix one. That belief became the foundation of this consultancy. We start every engagement by understanding the business first, then recommending whatever genuinely helps it move forward — even if the answer is to change very little at all.

The experience behind it

The experience behind K. Harbour & Co. has been built across businesses with very different challenges, but a common objective: helping organisations perform better.

That journey has included me leading a £300 million partner programme for a global telecoms operator, coordinating integrated B2B and B2C marketing across Hong Kong, Macau and South Asia for an international payments network that achieved 300% sales growth while expanding into new regional markets, and helping deliver a nationally recognised marketing and operational programme for a UK business managing delivery and installation services across the country.

Working across telecommunications, financial services, retail, property and UK SMEs has given me a broad perspective. Large organisations bring governance, structure and disciplined execution. Smaller businesses bring agility, resourcefulness and the need to make every decision count. We bring those two perspectives together, applying enterprise thinking in a way that is practical, proportionate and relevant for growing SMEs.

How we work

Every business is different, so every engagement starts in the same place: understanding how the business operates today. Before discussing AI, CRM platforms or automation, we want to understand your goals, your processes, your people and the challenges you’re trying to solve. The diagnosis comes first. The recommendation comes second.

Technology is never the objective. Better business performance is. Sometimes that means introducing new systems. Sometimes it means improving the ones you already have. Sometimes the biggest improvements come from clearer reporting, stronger processes or better alignment between teams. We fit the recommendation to the business — not the other way around.

My background combines enterprise-level governance with hands-on experience inside growing SMEs. That means we bring structured thinking without unnecessary complexity. The aim is always to deliver practical improvements your business can realistically implement and sustain.

While many projects have a clear beginning and end, meaningful improvement rarely happens overnight. We see every engagement as the start of a long-term professional relationship — providing trusted advice as your business evolves, rather than delivering a report and disappearing.

Let’s start with understanding your business.

If you’re looking for practical advice grounded in how your business actually operates, we’d be pleased to hear from you.
